Jacksonville Beach Pest Control — Family-Run Since 1979

Quick Form

Jacksonville Beach homes take a beating from the salt. Door sweeps corrode, screens rust through and weather stripping cracks. Every one of those gaps is a door for a palmetto bug.

Crown Pest Control has worked Duval County since 1979. We treat the Beach differently than an inland Jacksonville subdivision. The buildings and the pressure are not the same.

What Salt Air Does to Your Pest Barrier

Two blocks from the ocean, hardware fails faster. That is the practical difference between a Beach home and one in Mandarin or Arlington.

We check the things salt eats first:

  • Door sweeps and thresholds, where the seal has curled or rusted away
  • Window and lanai screens with corroded frames or split mesh
  • Garage door side seals and the bottom rubber
  • Dryer and bathroom vent covers with failed flaps

Sealing those is often worth more than any spray. We point out what we find and treat around what is still open until it is fixed.

Older Cottages and Newer Condos Need Different Work

The Beach mixes construction types across a single block. A 1950s concrete-block cottage on 8th Street sits near a five-storey condo built sixty years later.

Older cottages are built on slab with jalousie or single-pane windows and original trim. Gaps open at the frame and along the roofline. Newer condos share walls, chases and trash rooms, so pests move between units rather than in from outside.

Almost nothing here has a crawl space, so the ground-level entry points are doors, garage seals and utility penetrations. That focuses the treatment.

The Pests We See at the Beach

Sandy soil and warm nights favour a specific list. American cockroaches — palmetto bugs — come up from storm drains and mulch and turn up in garages and bathrooms.

Also common:

  • Ghost ants trailing on kitchen and bathroom counters
  • Wolf spiders and house spiders in garages and screened porches
  • Silverfish in bathrooms and closets, helped along by humidity
  • Fleas, in homes with pets and in rentals after a tenant moves out
  • Roof rats where trees or utility lines reach the roof

Ants and roaches here often come in through the garage rather than the front of the house. That is where we spend the time.

Rentals and Turnovers Between Guests

Jacksonville Beach carries steady short-term rental traffic, and turnover changes the risk profile. Bed bugs and fleas travel with people and pets. A unit can pick up a problem from a single stay.

For rental owners and managers we can:

  • Inspect between guests when something is reported
  • Treat before a booking window rather than after complaints start
  • Keep visits low-key so neighbours and guests are not disturbed

Own a unit near the Pier or on the numbered streets? A scheduled quarterly visit costs less than one emergency call during a booked week. Bed bug work is handled as a separate service with its own follow-up visits. The EPA’s bed bug guidance is a useful reference for rental owners.

How We Reach You

Crown works out of 1420 Cesery Blvd in Jacksonville’s Arlington area, on the mainland side of the Intracoastal. We run a set Beaches route rather than making one-off trips out.

See all our service areas for the wider coverage map. We cover Jacksonville Beach from the ocean back to the Intracoastal, including the numbered streets and the Pablo Creek side. Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach run on nearby days, so return visits are quick to arrange.

Getting Started

Most Beach customers run a quarterly pest control plan and add monthly mosquito control from spring. If pests return between visits, we come back at no charge.

Call (904) 743-1132 with your street, the type of building and what you have been seeing. We can price it on that call.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you treat condos and multi-unit buildings at Jacksonville Beach?

Yes. Condos need a different approach, since pests travel through shared walls, chases and trash rooms. We treat your unit and flag anything that points to a building-wide source, so management can act on it.

Palmetto bugs live outdoors in mulch, storm drains and tree debris. They come inside through gaps, not because of mess. Salt air corroding door sweeps and screens is the most common way in at the Beach. Sealing those gaps matters more than cleaning.

Yes. We can inspect and treat between bookings and keep visits discreet. A scheduled quarterly plan usually works out cheaper than emergency calls during a booked week.

Jacksonville Beach has more short-term rental turnover and more recent condo construction. Atlantic Beach has older tree canopy and more crawl spaces, which shifts pressure toward rodents. We adjust the treatment pattern accordingly.

Many do, particularly on the Intracoastal side near Pablo Creek. Ocean breeze helps on the front streets, but standing water in gutters and plant saucers breeds mosquitoes anywhere. monthly mosquito control through the season is the usual plan.

Yes, at no extra cost. Free re-service between quarterly visits is part of the plan. We run the Beaches on a set route, so call-backs are quick.

Yes. Crown works as an exterminator in Jacksonville Beach on a set Beaches route. We cover the numbered streets from the ocean back to the Intracoastal, plus the Pablo Creek side.

Usually within a few days for a new plan, and sooner for an active problem. Because Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach run on one route, we are out at the Beaches most weeks.
